The Investext Group signs Furman Selz and Needham & Co.

The Investext Group has announced that it has signed over 150 new contributors to the Investext, MarkIntel, and Industry Insider databases in 1997, bringing its total sources to nearly 700. According to the company, these additions include top banks in emerging markets, highly respected market research firms, trade associations for today's hottest industries, and leading brokerages from around the globe, such as new Investext contributors Furman Selz and Needham & Company. Both firms produce highly respected and specialized research that will offer new company and industry insight to customers of The Investext Group.

Established as a research-driven investment boutique in 1973, Funrian Selz has maintained its commitment to high-quality research with over 30 equity analysts producing reports in high-growth areas such as biotechnology, industrial manufacturing and international telecommunications, and information and outsourcing services, according to The Investext Group. The firm concentrates on recognizing developing industrial and economic trends and identifying companies and industry segments in a unique position to benefit from these trends.

Needham & Company's analysts focus on over 150 small- to medium-sized public companies in the retail, health-care, and technology sectors. This concentration on emerging growth includes companies in medical device technology, semiconductors, communications and networking equipment, software, and specialty apparel. Due to the highly specialized expertise of the firm's analysts, Needham's research often provides rare perspective on the future leaders and trends of the industries it covers, says Investext.

The Investext Group's brokerage research collection, including Investext, is an online collection of investment research reports, offering analysis from over 450 top international investment banks, brokerages, consultants, and research firms. The collection provides research from leading global producers, including Merrill Lynch, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, PaineWebber, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Salomon Smith Barney, and Credit Suisse First Boston, as well as top local research producers like Zivnostenska Banka in the Czech Republic, Eczacibasi Securities in Turkey, and Provalor SAB in Peru.

MarkIntel is The Investext Group's collection of market intelligence from 60 of the world's leading market research sources (12 exclusive), including Frost & Sullivan, Euromonitor, The Economist Intelligence Unit, and Jupiter Communications. MarkIntel reports feature primary research and statistics, interviews with industry leaders, extensive survey results, trends and forecasts, market size/share data, and market segment analysis.

The Industry Insider database of trade association research features industry analysis authored by chief economists at more than 150 trade associations in today's industries, including MultiMedia Telecommunications Industry Association, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, Society of the Plastics Industry, and American Medical Association.
