A criminal profiler is found dead on a sunny beach on a Sunday afternoon. In investigating her death, Detective Inspector Peter Diamond finds that she has been studying the clues left by the killer of a famous movie celebrity who has threatened to also kill a young golf star and an aging rock diva. When the golf star is killed, all stops are pulled as many law agencies work together to decipher the clues and find the killer--or is it killers? Hodson's reading gives the characters personality, from the Inspector's gravelly voice with a sardonic twist to the flat tones of a killer and the flippant attitude of the diva. Overall, this novel is one of the best of the modern British murder mysteries. Nola Theiss, Sanibel, FL
