The Healing Space: Understanding the True Nature of Inner Healing.

The Healing Space: Understanding the True Nature of Inner Healing

Vincent L. Perri

Universal Publishers

84 pages

Author Perri is a clinical psychologist and life coach who here explains how healing takes place through unconscious, archetypical processes. He finds that healing occurs in the psychic space between practitioner and client where metaphorical constructs are played out and actualized. For this to happen, the practitioner must be completely invested in the subjective reality of the client. His unconditional participation allows the doors of the unconscious to open and the healing endeavor to safely take place. Perri likens the bond established to that of a mother and fetus. He uses, among other things, metaphors from music and Christianity to explain what he is getting at. ([umlaut] Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR)
