WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2000

The Global TeleExchange (The GTX), a full service business-to-business portal and real-time applications exchange for the telecommunications industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith J. Mendelson as its Senior Vice President of External Relations and General Counsel.

For the past 15 years, Mr. Mendelson has practiced in the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia offices of the international law firm of Pillsbury Madison & Sutro. Mr. Mendelson served as the co-managing partner of Pillsbury's Northern Virginia Office, which opened in May 1999, and head of the firm's Business Practice Section for the East Coast.

Mr. Mendelson specializes in corporate, securities and technology law. He has represented numerous start-up and emerging technology companies in a variety of corporate and transactional matters including public and private offerings, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

Recent highlights of Mr. Mendelson's career at Pillsbury include serving as the lead partner on the initial public offering and two secondary public offerings for Network Solutions, Inc., with aggregate offering proceeds of over $3 billion.

"My practice was going strong and Pillsbury is beginning to make a real name for itself as a leading technology firm in this area," remarked Mendelson, "so it is with some reluctance that I move on at this point. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to become part of a very experienced and creative management team in an business segment that is just beginning to take shape but which will revolutionize the way telecommunications carriers buy and sell products and services like minutes and bandwidth."

"We're very pleased to obtain Keith's full time and attention as a senior member of our management team," said Phil Anderson, CEO of The GTX. "His experience with fast growing technology companies, like ours, is invaluable particularly as we continue to capitalize and install our worldwide network."
