The Frederick Brewing Company of Frederic, MD, has announced that
one of its most popular seasonal beers has returned for the fall season.
Wild Goose Nut Brown Ale made its seasonal debut during the first week
of August. According to Frederick, Wild Goose Nut Brown is brewed in the
classic London style with a rich nutty flavor. "This handcrafted authentic brown ale is brewed with Carapils, pale, amber and Choolate
malts for a deep brown color and full body," says spokesperson Paul
Abrams. "We add classic English Northdown hops and East Kent
Golding hops for a well-rounded smooth finish. Hop bitterness is law to
medium, in accordance with classic style guidelines. We use our special
Ringwood yeast to give our brown ale many of its delicious, classic
flavor notes." According to Abrams this ale received a gold medal
at the 1997 World Beer Championships and a bronze medal at the 1998 Real
Ale Festival. Wild Goose Nut Brown Ale has an original gravity of 12.5
