The common subtitle for each of these books, A Comprehensive Visual Guide to Traditional and Contemporary Techniques, aptly describes the concepts behind each publication. While there are slight variations in format and approach because of different authors, there is a consistent, lively, and informative organization to be found in each book. Every page has full-color illustrations to support the text, with many reproductions of paintings by professional artists as examples of the theme or technique being discussed. Each book also presents numerous step-by-step demonstrations to clarify the subject matter.
