Fauna entomologica Scandinavica; v.39

The authors have compiled a catalog containing taxonomy of the 17 genera and 128 species of Western European Drosophilidae, with descriptions included of the biology and distribution of each. Clear b&w illustrations are provided of the essential parts, including some, new for this volume, of the male and female terminalia. Chapters are included on the flies' ecology, zoogeography, and genetics. Designed especially for field work, identification keys are included. The four authors are at universities in Brazil, Sweden, and Switzerland.
