The David Lawrence Show on DCRadio700 WGOP; Radio Just Got Smarter.
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2002
David Lawrence returns to the local Washington, D.C. airwaves after 7 years beginning today, when he'll be heard daily from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET on DCRadio700 WGOP, it was announced today by Sima Birach, Jr., President and General Manager.
"The David Lawrence Show" will bring common sense and fun back to talk radio. Lawrence is a self-proclaimed "Rock 'n Roll Conservative" whose approach to issues is to examine all angles and then to hammer home "the right thing to do," not the easy thing to do. "We're so glad we were able to add David to our programming on WGOP," says Birach. "David will tackle today's most pressing issues and deflate know-it-alls who have the ear of the public, and cut through the lies of spin doctors and extremists whose voices are too loud for the public to make up their own minds."
"Life is not all about hard issues and screaming matches, though," says Lawrence, "I'm bound to be a goofball in between the serious stuff. Sometimes, it's about movies, music, toys and drinking. Sometimes it's about family life, kids, cars and money -- looking at all of life's facets through a cynical eye and with a sense of humor. I'm very excited about being on the radio again in DC. WGOP has made a huge splash with The Greaseman and Mike Gallagher, both buddies of mine, and one of smartest guys on radio, Michael Medved. I'm glad to be a part of their line-up."
David's former top rated shows in DC at ABC's WRQX (then Q107) and WMAL both provided the platform to launch the two national shows he currently hosts, the Net Music Countdown (heard in 65 markets and on Sirius Satellite Radio) and Online Tonight (heard in 70 markets and on both XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio).
