Q Are there different types of Botox?

ABotox is a brand name for Botulinum Toxin Type A, made by Allergan. This was the first one on the market, that's why it is commonly referred to when discussing wrinkle reduction injections - in much the same way as vacuum cleaners are referred to as a Hoover.

There are other Botulinum Toxin Type A products available, including; Azzalure and Dysport, made by Galderma, and Bocouture and Xeomin from Merz. They all offer similar effects and clinical trials indicate there are no significant benefits of one over the other.

Q Can you get fake Botox products?

A Counterfeit Botulinum Toxin Type A is reportedly being used. The danger is that the concentration of the product can be too high, causing potentially devastating consequences. Using a reputable practitioner will ensure the appropriate products.
