The Big Stuff: Scary rip offs.

Byline: DONALD MACLEOD

TRICK or Treat? More like Asda own-brand toffee apples!

Yes folks it's that time of year again, Halloween, but what has happened to this once-great pagan festival?

I despair. Kids are supposed to be in fear and awe at this time of year, believe in stories of headless nuns and stuff - not demanding that their parents dress them up as the latest Bratz character.

Take action with me this Friday night and make your kids stay up to watch The Wicker Man.

Tell them of how it was filmed in Scotland and that if they don't behave between now and Christmas they will be getting shipped off for the Wicker Man treatment (but maybe get them to leave the room when Brit Eckland's body double starts dancing in the scud).
