The Battle for Justice in Palestine.
The Battle for Justice in Palestine
Author Abunimah, a Palestinian-American, documents and analyzes the current situation in Palestine. He rejects the "two-state" solution supported by Secretary of State Kerry. Instead, he challenges the right of Israel to exist as a state. The global boycott, divestment and sanctions movement (BSD) against Israel is generating a swell of support and adherents even as conditions on the ground in Gaza and the West Bank are grimmer than ever. This movement serves as a spur to the author's hope that Israel will eventually participate in a "one-state" solution, Abunimah looks to South Africa and Northern Ireland for examples of how this might be accompliashed in Chapter three, "Israeli Jews and the One-State Solution." He critiques "neoliberal Palestine" in Chapter four. Chapters five and six go deeply into Israel's opposition to BSD and the rise of BSD, especially on university campuses. Chapter seven is a call for Palestinian self-determination. ([umlaut] Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR)
