"Rangoli, an Indian Art Activity Book" is a sturdy, spiral bound instruction book on creating artistic designs called rangoli, especially adapted for children age 9 and up. For a fun, creative, and easily learned artistic activity, rangoli is the ideal activity. Rangoli can be drawn on the ground, with natural colors and materials, or on paper or even computer. Beginners find it easier to start using different grids to help them learn some of the common techniques, such as connecting the dots or looping the loops. "Rangoli" is full of different blank grids that can be enlarged and copied or used right in the book for creating rangoli designs. Further study presents the "art meets math" chapter, which teaches children to analyze and explore shapes, patterns, and find reflections of nature in the rangoli design medium. Art activities such as how to draw an elephant, or how to design a maze are included. "Rangoli" is a wonderful children's art project book that is both culturally enriched and informative and educational.
