Thatch yer lot, Widdecombe.

Byline: Dan Hodges

ARE the coalition cuts about to claim an unexpected victim? Ann Widdecombe has been taking Strictly Come Dancing by storm.

According to BBC insiders, she has topped every public vote, swept along on a wave of admiration, sympathy and disbelief.

But that could all be about to change. As Chancellor George Osborne's axe plunges, so may Ann's cult status.

Will people still feel so warm towards a hard-nosed Thatcherite Tory? If they don't, it may well be Widders who's for the chop.

Which in turn would open the door for other contestants, such as the stunning Kara Tointon, left.

Come to think of it: Cut hard, George. Cut hard.
