Thanks to dedicated team of health staff.

DURING late December 2016 I was diagnosed with a pericardial effusion (fluid around the heart).

After numerous blood tests, ECGs, Echo cardiograms and a CT scan it was decided I would require a pericardial window and chest drain to rectify the matter.

The operation took place last Monday. All has gone well and it's now down to recovery and rehabilitation.

I would like to thank Dr Hindle (pictured) and Dr Cripin at Colne Valley family doctors, along with staff in cardiology including Mr Welsh and Dr Preston and the cardiologists at Huddersfield Royal infirmary.

Also Mr Chaudhuri, doctors and all staff at St James hospital in Leeds where my procedure took place.

Without these collective wonderful, dedicated, caring staff where would we be? Don't cut NHS funding. Support our NHS.Roger Dyson Linthwaite
