Thalassemia test at district's hospitals being considered: DC.

KARACHI -- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khairpur, Naeem Ahmed Sindhu Wednesday said the district administration was considering to start haemoglobin electro process test at its hospitals for preventing cases of thalassemia and hemophilia. Talking to a delegation of Red Crescent at his office, he said hemoglobin electro process test was very important before marriage so that upcoming generations could be saved from this disease, as cousin marriage was a main cause of thalassemia and hemophilia. He said the district government Khairpur was also taking measures to ensure availability of blood for needy patients at Government hospitals in the district. The DC said the patients, who suffer from blood diseases, could lead normal life after proper and timely treatment. In this connection, the role of various organisations and blood banks was admirable. Naeem Sindhu said the provision of free blood to poor and needy patients was a good deed and various organisations were playing vital role in this regard.
