Tessenderlo to restructure gelatin plants, slash 23 jobs in Belgium - report.

(SeeNews) - Feb 3, 2014 -A Belgian TessenderloA (EBR:TESB) will restructure its gelatin plants worldwide, which will lead to 23 job losses in its PB Gelatins division in Vilvoorde, chemicals group's spokeswoman Kathleen Iwens said Monday, quoted by news agency Belga.

The company's social partners have already been informed on the planned restructuring, Iwens said. She added that the main reason for the measure is the weak performance of its gelatin plants.

The facility in Vilvoorde employs 300 people. The company's gelatine plantsA giveA work to about 1,200 people worldwide and 78 of the jobsA are expected to be cutA as part of the restructuring.

The company's management will discuss the plans with the trade unions on Monday.
