Terumo to Set up Medical Equipment Production Base in Vietnam.
Tokyo, Japan, Mar 31, 2006 - (JCN) - Terumo has announced plans to establish a production base in Vietnam in late April.To be capitalized at 2.6 billion yen ($22.0 mil), Terumo Vietnam Co., Ltd. (provisional name) will construct a plant for manufacturing medical equipment including a closed infusion system and pump infusion set. Manufactured items will be exported mainly to Japan and Asian countries.
The new plant will commence full-scale operations in 2Q 2007. It will be run by Torumo's wholly owned local subsidiary. Terumo aims to achieve sales of 1.5 billion yen ($12.7 mil) in fiscal 2008.
