Tennis: Robredo can stun Austrian.
VC have underrated three players in the first round of the Adelaide International which starts early tomorrow morning, writes James Pyman. T ommy Robredo has lost three of his four previous meetings with Austrian opponent Jurgen Melzer, but the 5-6 about the Spaniard is too big to miss when you consider that he finished last year ranked at 20, which was 33 places above world No. 53 Melzer.
Florian Mayer will enjoy the even-bouncing Rebound Ace courts and rival Juan Monaco, who is far more at home on clay, will find the German's sliced groundstrokes hard to handle.
Mayer has won two of their three career encounters and he is value at 8-11 to score a further win over the Argentinian.
Jarkko Nieminen should arguably be the favourite in his clash with Paul-Henri Mathieu as the Finn is likely to be too consistent for the erratic Mathieu.
Recommendations T Robredo 5pts 5-6 (VC) F Mayer 5pts 8-11 (VC) J Nieminen 5pts 11-10 (VC) T Robredo, F Mayer & J Nieminen 1pt treble (VC)
