Tempe, Arizona Kicks Off Youth Program.

Tempe's Promise Committee kicked-off its commitment to area youth with a community summit on September 24. The intent of the summit was to begin building connections between local business, government, religious and service organizations.

Established by Mayor Neil Giuliano, Tempe's Promise is a program dedicated to improving the lives of the city's youth by providing access to basic resources deemed necessary to maximize a young person's potential. The program is modeled after the national Alliance for Youth headed by Gen. Colin Powell.
