Television; CASUALTY; Saturday, BBC1, 8.05pm.

AS the beautiful nurse Tina Seabrook in Casualty, she captured the hearts of millions. And with her raunchy photo shoots for a series of lads' mags, she gained even more fans.

Now Edinburgh-born Claire Goose is set to leave the long-running hit BBC1 drama to seek more fame and fortune, following in the footsteps of her boyfriend of two years, ex- Casualty star Jonathan Kerrigan.

In an unusual departure, the BBC1 drama goes Down Under as Tina flies off in search of Sean Maddox, the doctor who has broken her heart more than once in the last few years.

Two weeks ago, Tina revealed her true feelings for Sean after he bolted for Australia without telling her. Consultant Max, another of Tina's ex- loves, let it slip out and Tina rushed to the train station to find Sean.

Viewers were left on the edge of their seats as Tina asked Sean to marry her as the train pulled out of the station. Tonight, having decided she loves him, Tina follows Sean to Oz. The only problem is - she doesn't know where he is

Claire had an action-packed few weeks filming in Australia. "I worried constantlyabout the scorpions and brown snakes," she laughs.

Claire, 24, has been with Casualty now for three years and in that time her character has had to put up with her fair share of angst.

There was the rape plot when she was attacked by a deranged patient. Her recovery was not aided by the fact that the man who helped her, medic Sean (Gerald Kyd), ended up getting her fellow nurse, Chloe Hill, pregnant.

Claire is currently filming a new two-part detective series, Waking The Dead, in which she plays a member of a crack police squad in the show.

BBC bosses, fearing their golden girl might defect to ITV, offered Claire the role after ITV tried to lure her away.

Make no mistake - this is one girl who is sure to go far.
