Television: Who dies when giant rollercoaster collapses in Walford?

Byline: with Billy Sloan

Whoever coined the phrase 'all the fun of the fair' has clearly never visited Walford.

Only in EastEnders could the arrival of the travelling shows turn into a disaster.

As locals gather for the Bridge Street centenary it's all tombola, burger stalls and candy floss.

But tragedy strikes when a giant slide develops a structural fault and collapses.

Screams are heard from beneath the heap of twisted metal and Den, Dennis, Sonia and Dr Leroy rush to the rescue.

Who ends up trapped in the wreckage? Now, that would be telling.

On Coronation Street, Les Battersby goes to bizarre lengths to woo his ex-wife Janice.

He dresses up in a skimpy belly dancing outfit inspired by the exotic gear daughter Leanne wore when she was working in a seedy bar. Then he trips over to the Underworld factory carrying a tray full of cigarettes. Les reckons if he can't tempt Janice back with his outrageous clobber she'll succumb to a quick drag. Well, she always was the light of his life.

In Emmerdale, bad boy Cain Dingle is behind bars for knocking down Edna in a hit and run. But for once he's not the guilty man it was Sam who was behind the wheel.

Sam knows if he owns up he'll go to jail... but if he doesn't he'll face the revenge of Cain.

Dani also has car trouble in Home And Away. Did she deliberately run down Kane? The cops think she did and charge her with attempted murder.

Bars of the iron variety figure in Hollyoaks, too, where Dan is freed from jail to be reunited with girlfriend Debbie. Little does he know that while locked up she had romantic tussle with Darren. Will Dan find out? What do you think?

In Family Affairs, Geri confides to her mate Yasmin that she has leukaemia and that treatment could leave her infertile.

While in River City, George's personal problems mount up and he hits the bottle with catastrophic consequences.
