Telephony company Telephonetics has formed an alliance with carrier solution provider Medius for a speech recognition service.

The service will be available as a network service as well as a traditional customer premises equipment solution. According to the companies, because the solution has been placed on a network it will now be available on non-geographic numbers such as 0870 or 0845.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
