Teleglobe Selects Virtela to Enable Wholesale Global L3VPN Services; Agreement to Provide Virtela's Award-Winning IP VPN Services to Teleglobe Customers Worldwide.

HAMILTON, Bermuda & DENVER -- Teleglobe International Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:TLGB), a leading provider of international telecommunications services to Internet service providers, fixed and mobile network operators, and Virtela, a global network solutions company, today announced that the companies have established an agreement for Teleglobe to provide Virtela's global managed network services to Teleglobe's regional ISP clients enabling them to offer global Layer 3 Virtual Private Network (L3VPN) services to their enterprise customers.

Under the agreement, Teleglobe will market and sell Virtela's IP-based global VPN solution to regional ISPs whose subscribers require VPN reach across multiple networks. Virtela's innovative but proven virtual networking methods will establish and manage a flexible, reliable and secure L3VPN at a competitive cost across multiple independent providers, enabling L3VPN reach across Teleglobe's backbone to approximately 200 countries.

Teleglobe's ISP customers will be able to offer VPN services from their own regional network, across the global Teleglobe backbone network, to any of a large number of edge networks around the world. Teleglobe customers will enjoy a single point of contact and integrated bill for a global multi-network IP VPN service, backed by leading performance guarantees and 24x7 multilingual Network Operations Centre support.

"Through the Virtela relationship, Teleglobe will be able to offer its regional ISP customers a one-stop shop for world class global VPN services for their enterprise customers," said Vab Goel, Virtela's chairman and partner at Norwest Venture Partners. "We're pleased to be working with one of the leading global IP backbone providers to enable regional providers to offer truly global VPN reach."

"Teleglobe's regional ISP clients have enterprise customers that increasingly require global services", said Christian Michaud, Vice President of Marketing at Teleglobe. "With Virtela's unique multi-network capability, our ISP clients will be empowered to provide their customers with truly global IP VPNs between their global offices and business partners. This enables our ISP clients to effectively compete with the single global network L3VPN providers and to retain their local enterprise customers in need of a global footprint L3VPN."
