Teledyne unveils acquisition of Dutch Axiom IC.
13 May 2013 a[euro]" US electronics, instrumentation and engineered systems provider Teledyne Technologies Inc (NYSE:TDY) on Monday said it had bought Dutch fabless semiconductor firm Axiom IC BV for an undisclosed amount.
The takeover of Axiom, which develops high-performance complementary metala[euro]"oxidea[euro]"semiconductor (CMOS) mixed-signal integrated circuits, was carried out via the buyer's unit Teledyne DALSA BV.
Through the acquisition, Teledyne gains access to Axiom's mixed-signal design know-how, boosting its design capabilities. It complements its expertise in CMOS image sensor design, high voltage driver chips for microelectromechanical system (MEMS) and embedded software development, Brian Doody, CEO of Teledyne DALSA Inc, said.
Axiom IC is based in Enschede, the Netherlands.
