Tehran to Host 121-Storey Skyscraper Soon.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran will soon see its first skyscraper in its capital, Tehran.

Islamic Revelation Mostazafan Foundation (IRMF) deputy chief Manouchehr Khajedolouiee said to indigenize skyscrapers construction technology and improve the quality and management in the domestic construction sector his organization is studying the building of a 121-storey skyscraper in Tehran.

"The IRMF has recently held a meeting to study the feasibility of this project and is conducting studies to locate a proper sight for starting construction," the official said.

"Iranian and foreign specialists and contractors are to be invited to take part in this project," he added.

Tehran has the most high-rise buildings in Iran. The tallest building in this city is a 56-story one called the International Tehran Tower.

The Milad Tower (at 435 m (1,427 ft), the 5th tallest concrete tower in the world) is not listed among Tehran's skyscrapers because it is an observation/telecommunications tower.
