Tees fans' chance to meet the KO king.

Byline: BOXING By Adam Steel Sports writer

HEAVYWEIGHTS aren't exactly queuing up to face Anthony Joshua at the moment, but boxing fans can snap up a chance to meet the undefeated knockout machine in Middlesbrough tomorrow week.

Britain's big heavyweight hope will be the special guest at another of Teesside promoter Tony Robinson's sportsman's evenings at Marton Country Club on Friday, September 25.

Olympic gold medallist Joshua will have plenty to talk about after marking time ahead of his December 12 grudge match against Dillian Whyte with an easy clobbering of Gary Cornish last weekend to win the Commonwealth title.

The first round beatdown improved the Watford 25-year-old's perfect professional record to 14 quick wins in as many fights.

Robinson has brought some of the most famous names in boxing to Middlesbrough in recent times, including Sugar Ray Leonard.

And he is proud to present the rampaging Joshua as his next headline attraction. "You always want the best for your home town, and for me Anthony Joshua is the most exciting heavyweight since Mike Tyson," he said.

"He is going to be a world champion, one million per cent."

Joshua will be accompanied by his trainer Tony Sims' son Charlie, who used to be one of the stars of the UK's most successful reality TV series TOWIE.

Tickets are available from Tony on 07899 940230, Marton Country Club on 01642 317141 and Ged on 07714 748513.

Limited VIP front row seats, which include food and a photo with Joshua, are priced PS100.

Seated tickets including a hot and cold buffet are priced PS65, and there is a special parent and child under-16 standing deal for PS40.
