Teens' PS5k blackmail bid.

A GANG who blackmailed a man demanding PS5,000 turned out to be three schoolboys - aged just 15 - who had never been in any trouble before.

A youth court at Mold heard the man, from the Saltney area, returned home to find the demand.

The trio believed the man was involved in the importation and illegal sale of cigarettes.

There had been a burglary at his home earlier when PS100 in cash had been taken and it was believed the burglars had seen a bank statement showing how much money he had in his account.

One boy admitted two attempted burglaries, burglary and blackmail. A second boy admitted burglary and blackmail and the third admitted blackmail and handling cigarettes stolen in the burglary at the victim's home.

All three were bailed pending sentence next month. They were ordered not to associate with each other or to contact the victim or his family.
