Teenager is charged with having knife; POLICE.

A TEENAGER is due in court after reports a youth was carrying a knife outside a Birmingham school.

Police were called to the scene, close to Arc Kings Academy in Shannon Road, Kings Norton, at around 8am on Tuesday. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and was later charged.

He was bailed to appear before Birmingham Youth Court on August 2. The arrested boy was not a pupil.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Shannon Road at around 8am on Tuesday to reports of someone with a knife. A 16 year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and was later charged.

"He was bailed to appear before Birmingham Youth Court on August 2."
