Teenage girl died of heart failure.

A TEENAGE girl collapsed and died from a mystery heart illness as she chatted with her mother. Emma New, 16, slumped in her chair at the family's Greasby home. Her father John gave heart massage before paramedics arrived but Emma was pronounced dead at Arrowe Park Hospital one hour later.

Speaking at the family home in Lloyd Drive, Emma's mother, Liz , said: ``You just do not think you will ever bury your children.

``Her dad told her every single day he loved her. '' Emma, who had no history of illness, was studying performing arts and English at Wirral Met College's 12 Quay campus.

Days before she died the former Pensby Girls' school pupil became unwell while working as a part time cleaner at Arrowe Park Hospital and was admitted to its cardiac unit. Discharged two days later on April 19 she died after collapsing at home on April 22.

An inquest held at Wallasey town hall, coroner Christopher Johnson recorded a verdict of death by natural causes.

Dr George Kokai at Alder Hey Hospital had also concluded Emma died of heart failure from unknown causes.
