Teen still 'critical'.

HIT-and-run victim Rachel Jones remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Aberdare Girls' School pupil Rachel, 13, was mown down in front of three friends as they tried to cross the A4065 Trecynon to Penywaun bypass on Saturday evening.

The driver of the car failed to stop and left the scene.

A white Vauxhall Carlton recovered in Treherbert, Rhondda, was being examined by forensic experts.

A 26-year-old man from Bridgend was arrested on Monday.

Today detectives were applying to magistrates for a warrant to continue questioning him.
