Teen groped girl at party.
Steven Simpson had been at the same celebration as the 17-year-old victim last December. The pair and two others finally crashed fully clothed on a bed.
But the girl awoke to find Simpson molesting her during the night.
She jumped up shouting and slapped him, Newcastle Crown Court heard. But instead of saying sorry, the 19-year-old supermarket worker - never in trouble before - grabbed her by the throat then shoved her hard against a wall.
"He pushed forcefully," said Penny Moreland, prosecuting. "There was a hole in the plaster as a result of the force used."
Simpson, of Horsley Road, Ovingham, admitted sexual assault and common assault. He was given a three year community order with supervision, ordered to attend a probation-run treatment programme for sex offenders, and must register with police for the next five years. "You should understand your victim was very distressed by what you did to her," Recorder Graeme Hyland said.
