SIDON, Lebanon: A Palestinian student miraculously survived a fall from the fifth floor of her apartment building in Sidon Sunday morning after receiving poor results for her official exams. Sources say that the student, Farah D., likely threw herself from the balcony of the apartment, located in the neighborhood of Al-Bustan Al-Kabir, and was saved when the clotheslines strung across balconies broke her fall.

Farah had been anxiously awaiting the results of her Brevet exams and was shocked when she was not listed among those who passed.

While the laundry lines likely saved her life, the girl sustained serious injuries and fractures from the fall. She was taken immediately to hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit due to the severity of her condition.

Shocked family members refused to speak to the media or allow journalists a glimpse of the girl in the hospital.
