Technip wins massive contract in KSA.

Technip have won a massive engineering, procurement, construction project from the petrochemical company Al-Jubail Petrochemical Company (KEMYA) according to a statement from the company.

KEMYA, which is a joint venture between SABIC and Exxon Chemical Arabia awarded the contract to Technip who will deliver the project in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Set up with the intention to serve increasing demand in the region for speciality elastomers such as thermoplastics, protein resilin and polysulfide rubber, the plant is expected to produce approximately 110,000 tons of rubber per year, (using licensed ExxonMobil technology).


According to a statement from Technip Middle East region's senior vice president, Arturo Grimaldi he said; "We are glad to work on the implementation of this world-class facility, based on a state-of-art technology, in line with Saudi Arabia's strategic objectives. This contract reinforces Technip's leading position in the petrochemical business and in Saudi Arabia, where we have been present for more than 30 years."
