Tech wiz Elon Musk hopes to link human brains to computers.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has risen to the upper echelon of the tech industry in recent years. And with his latest technological venture, its not hard to see why the man has become one of the most recognizable faces in the industry.

The 45-year-old tech innovator has come up with a company called Neuralink, which is dedicated to creating a link between human brains and computers.

Using a technology called 'neural ace,' people would soon be able to communicate directly with machines without any physical interface, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The company, which was registered as a medical-research company in California in July, aims to implant electrodes in the brain, which would then upload or download the thoughts to a computer. Hence, the link gives humans higher levels of cognitive function, the report said.

Although Musk has yet to reveal details of his latest company, he talked about his visions of forming symbiosis between human minds and machines in several talks last year.

Musk's exploration of artificial intelligence is part of his nonprofit organization called OpenAI, which aims to 'advance digital intelligence in the way that is most likely to benefit humanity as a whole.'
