Tecate Beer ready for Cinco de Mayo

Tecate Beer will help consumers all across the county celebrate America's biggest Hispanic holiday, Cinco de Mayo, the May 5th commemoration of Mexico's defeat of the French army at the Battle of Pueblo in 1862.

Recognizing that Hispanic-themed restaurants and bars and other on-premise accounts now celebrate Cinco de Mayo with parties and special events, Tecate and its U.S. importer, Wisdom Import Sales Co., will distribute special party kits. Each kit contains banners, posters, table tents, balloons and buttons. Tecate will also be available at a reduced price during the holiday promotion period.

"Cinco de Mayo has become one of the great annual holiday celebrations across America," said Mark Thiese, Tecate brand manager, Wisdom Import Sales Co. "Like St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo has become a holiday of festivity that's celebrated in a wide variety of on-premise accounts. The Cinco de Mayo holiday promotion is one of Tecate beer's top-selling days throughout the year."

Advertising support is strong in California and selected regional markets with a broad array of Spanish- and English-language media. Television support includes Tecate's "PedroInfante" TV sports, as well as outdoor ads which utilize the brand's "Disfruta la Mexicana Alegria" theme ("enjoy Mexican
