Teams battle for honours in Ajman tourney.

Dubai: AaClose results were the order of the day in the quarterfinals of the Ajman Cricket League Twenty 20 tournament, held at the Ajman Cricket grounds on Friday.

In the first quarterfinal match, ABCL Properties registered a 7 wicket victory over AEN Sharjah. Winning the toss, ABCL Properties elected to field first. ABCL bowler Murtaza Mughal knocked off 5 AEN batsmen, to bowl them out for a low score of 108.

The only highlight of the AEN Sharjah innings was the half century scored by Younus Safdari. In reply, all ABCL batsmen chipped in with useful knocks, to see their team through to the finals with six overs to spare. For his huge impact with the ball, Murtaza Mughal was declared Man of the Match.

In the second quarterfinal, United Tariq notched a narrow 11 run victory over XI on Top. Batting first, United Tariq put in a team effort, to score 175 runs even as XI on Top bowler Akshay dismissed 4 United Tariq batsmen. In reply, XI on Top put in a spirited effort, but some good bowling by Mirza Ashraf and Ashfaq Hussain, who accounted for 7 XI on Top batsmen, enabled United Tariq to book a place in the semifinals.

Mirza Ashraf was adjudged the Man of the match for his contribution.
