Teaching skills needed to sustain a knowledge-based economy.
RAWALPINDI:Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, PMAS-AAUR Prof Dr. Sarwat N. Mirza Thursday said that universities could play their role in establishing of knowledge based economy in the country.
He said there was dire need of time management as well as soft
intervention through enhancing productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of
time use in academic sphere and allied areas of management.
Addressing a seminar on "Time Management to enhance quality in
Academics' held here in PMAS-AAUR, Prof. Dr. Sarwat N. Mirza appreciated
Professor Riaz Ahamd, Director QEC and his team for organizing this seminar on
an emerging issue related to quality enhancement in academia at the Higher
Education Institutions. He also praised the ideas raised by Dr. Abdul Saboor in
his presentation and sensitized the faculty to follow the same in their
practical life.
Dr. Abdul Saboor, Professor of Economics and Dean Faculty of
Social Sciences, while giving the importance of time opened his presentation
with the argument that humans sear upon God and God swears upon "time" in Surah
Al-Asar which indicates the unmatchable importance of time.
