Teacher is top of the class; HOCKEY.

PRINCETHORPE College teacher Sarah Cockayne achieved a childhood dream when she helped Leicester win the National Indoor Hockey Championships. The 27-year-old PE teacher played a crucial role as Leicester Ladies lifted the Premier League title in Nottingham.

Sarah coaches the college's senior side and was overjoyed to be part of the side. In the final Leicester faced Slough and were inseparable at 2-2 but it was the Midlands outfit that eventually won the penalty flick showdown 3-2 to claim the crown. She said: "It was fantastic and the first time in 32 years Leicester Ladies have won this national competition. Now I'm looking forward to the European Championships later this year."

College head teacher Ed Hester added: "We are privileged to have someone of her calibre teaching here at Princethorpe. Sarah is an exceptional athlete. She is a role model to our all young sports men and women."
