Taxi trip to Switzerland.

A MIDLAND taxi firm collected its biggest ever fare when a group of businessmen booked a ride to Switzerland.

The seven executives, who work for a multinational company, paid Amber Cars pounds 1,200 to drive them from Northampton to a Geneva meeting after the volcanic ash cloud grounded their flight.

They set off on the 700 mile journey in a minibus taxi at 3.30am on Friday and arrived in the Swiss lakeside city more than 13 hours later.
