TaxInterest Version 2.1.

TaxInterest Version 2.1, TimeValue Software, 4 Jenner Street, Suite 100, PO Box 16157, Irvine, CA 92713, (714) 727-1800, $149 ($45 upgrade for current users of Version 2 or earlier).

This program is designed for use by tax professionals to calculate interest and penalties on tax deficiencies. The program takes into account the Revenue Reconciliation Act of 1989 which initiated changes that specifically affect the way penalties are grouped and computed on returns due after December 31, 1989. The penalty selection window in TaxInterest is now date sensitive with penalties only appearing if they are applicable to the tax due date. Information input has also been simplified. In addition, the program includes an automatic payment allocation default and a revised manual containing updated examples and explanations of the new penalty structure. Another feature is an expanded selection of built-in state rate tables. The following state rates are included: CA, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NE, Nj and NY. Additional rate tables for other states can be created by the user. System requirements are an IBM PC or compatible with one disk drive with minimum of 512K RAM and MS/PC-DOS version 2.0 or greater. TaxInterest is available in 5" or 3 " diskettes.
