Tasty town hall.

A NORTH East council is in the running for several national catering awards.

The Local Authority Caterer's Association Awards, which take place on July 9, honour individuals and teams that make a difference in local authority catering.

Out of the six awards up for grabs, North Tyneside Council has been nominated for four, including catering management team, secondary school catering team for John Spence Community High School, primary school catering for Battle Hill Primary and specialist catering team for the restaurant team at Quadrant.

North Tyneside's catering services manager, Barbara Patterson, said: "Being nominated for a LACA award is a huge accolade and a tribute to the dedication of catering staff working within the industry."
