Taqua Systems Appoints John Glass Vice President, Business Development; Telecommunications Industry Veteran to Drive Global Channel Expansion Efforts and New Market Opportunities.

HYANNIS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 2000

Taqua Systems, Inc., a leading provider of next-generation Class 5 access switching platforms for voice and data network convergence, today announced the appointment of John Glass to the position of Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Glass will be based at Taqua's Hyannis, Mass. headquarters, and will report directly to Robert Steinkrauss, Taqua's president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Glass, who joined Taqua shortly after the company's founding in 1998, previously served in a variety of strategic sales and marketing roles and helped formulate the company's vision and strategic direction while working out of Taqua's Richardson, TX engineering and customer service facility. During that period, Mr. Glass was instrumental in establishing a major Taqua presence in the internationally-known Telecom Corridor of Texas, and was responsible for the formation of a network of resellers for the company's flagship product - the Open Compact Exchange (OCX).

In his new role, Mr. Glass will be responsible for the development of strategic industry OEM partnerships. Mr. Glass will also spearhead the identification and development of new markets worldwide for Taqua.

Prior to joining Taqua, Mr. Glass, a 20-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, held senior management positions with Tektronix, DSC Communications, General Instrument, Siemens Communications Systems, GTE Communications Systems and NUKO Information Systems, as well as the Pentagon. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Western New England College, and a Bachelors of Science, Economics from Washington State University.
