Taoyuan rolls out Taiwan's first free luggage delivery to designated hotels.
Taoyuan City goes the extra mile to curry favor with international tourists by rolling out Taiwan's first free luggage delivery service from Taoyuan International Airport to 30 designated hotels in the city, beginning from now on.
Taoyuan's Department of Tourism (DOT) said on Thursday (May 10) that tourists who opt to use the free service have to make an online reservation and then take their luggage, along with the bar code, reservation record, to the Taiwan Pelican Express service counters located at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
One passenger can only enjoy one piece of luggage free of charge, the DOT said. The luggage will have to be checked before 2 p.m., the department said, adding that the luggage will arrive at hotels by 7 p.m.
However, the free luggage delivery service will be limited to the 30 designated hotels and a total of 3,500 pieces of luggage for the trial operation, the department said. The free service will be increased if it yields good results, the department added.
