Tanzania : GOVT. commits to support TANZANIAN entrepreneurs to learn and build their talents.

Seeking to promote technology-based businesses that would offer digital solutions to the society, the government has committed to support Tanzanian entrepreneurs to learn and build their talents.

The government's commitment follows mobile phone company, Tigo Tanzania Limited inking a partnership deal with Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi) and the Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) to back a new business programme designed to promote local talents for entrepreneurs and creating jobs in the country through ICT.

Founded in 2011 as a public private partnership,, DTBi, is is an independent autonomous entity of COSTECH with its own Board that promotes the development of ICT technology-based rising firms contributing to the creation of jobs and the country s improved economic health.

The Minister for Science, Communications and Technology Prof Makame Mbarawa, said : "The government is proud to support such an initiative of which I believe will go a long way towards ensuring young people and tech-entrepreneurs get the knowledge and support for their innovations to get scaled up and compete in the integrated marketplace."
