Talia Castellano Death: Cancer-Stricken YouTube Heroine Loses Six-Year Battle [VIDEO].

Talia Castellano, the cancer-stricken girl who inspired thousands as an internet beauty guru, has died after losing her six-year battle with the disease.

The 13-year-old from Orlando, Florida, who was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in February 2007, gained more than 750,000 followers on her YouTube channel for her makeup tutorials.

Although she was initially declared cancer-free following treatment, she later relapsed twice and in 2012 she developed leukaemia in her bone marrow. There are currently no treatments that tackle both cancers at the same time.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven," a statement on her Facebook page read.

In 2012, Talia appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where it was announced that she was being made an honorary CoverGirl.

She also was sent by the show to cover a radio festival in Las Vegas, where she realised her dream of interviewing musicians like Usher and Gwen Stefani and got to hang out with Justin Bieber.

Following news of her death, chat show host DeGeneres paid tribute to 'a special girl' on her twitter page.

"This year I met a very special girl, and today we lost her. Sending my heart to Talia's family, " she told her 20.7 million followers. "I'm so sad."

A spokesperson for the American cosmetics company CoverGirl also described Talia as a 'true beauty'.

"We are honored to have known Talia and grateful for all the ways she showed us what true beauty means ," vice president and general manager Esi Eggleston Bracey said.

"She inspired millions with her strength, personality and talent. Talia has touched our CoverGirl family forever, and we're thankful to have been a part of her life.

"Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time."
