Taking up the whistle.

The North Midlands Society of Rugby Football Referees and Worcester University College have joined forces to run two courses for new referees.

They will be starting at Droitwich RFC on Sunday June 10 from 9.30am to 1.30pm as part of the Rugby Football Union's Mini and Midi Referees Scheme which provides qualified officials for matches played in the 7-12 age groups.

They will also be running a course at Malvern RFC on August 11 and 12 as part of the RFU's National Foundation Course which qualifies referees to officiate 15-a-side matches and become members of their local Referees' Society.

Details from Allan Hughes, the NMSRFR recruitment officer, on 01902 676009 or Lynn Butler at Worcester University College on 01905 855484.
