Taken for lorry ride.
Byline: QUENTIN WILLSON
WHEN is the Government going to do something about the scourge of
foreign lorries? Truck drivers from Europe are allowed to fill up with
cheap diesel on the Continent, wear out our roads, ignore our laws and
undercut our haulage industry without paying a penny. The cops are
getting increasingly worried by the amount of accidents caused by tired
and distracted foreign hauliers. The Road Haulage Association estimates
there are 10,000 ploughing up and down our roads every day, and it
won't be long before foreign truckers outnumber British. Something
must be done.
