TakeFive Software Joins Siemens Nixdorf's Global Alliance Partner Program.

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1998--

SNiFF+ Selected as the Central Integration Platform for SENS --

Siemens Nixdorf's Multi-Platform Development Environment for

Enterprise-Wide Software Projects

TakeFive Software, the premier provider of Source Code Engineering(TM) (SCE) solutions, today announced that Siemens Nixdorf (SNI) has selected TakeFive as a Global Alliance Partner. SNiFF+, TakeFive's flagship product, is the central Source Code Engineering tool for SENS, the open multi-platform development environment of Siemens Nixdorf.

SNiFF+ is an integrated source code comprehension, navigation, analysis, and management tool that enables programming teams to quickly understand and develop complex software systems, resulting in shortened development cycles and higher quality software. SNiFF+ was selected for its IDE capabilities to develop enterprise-wide software applications for the industry-leading hardware platforms of Siemens Nixdorf -- under Reliant -- UNIX and Windows NT.

While most projects have been developed on client/server architectures under UNIX, the growing market acceptance of Windows NT as a development platform means that the development landscape is becoming more and more heterogeneous. SENS offers a full range of market-leading development tools for the whole software development process. It offers a combination of tools for developing in mixed NT and UNIX environments on Siemens Nixdorf platforms, ranging from CASE and Source Code Engineering tools to GUI-builders and quality assurance tools. SENS provides developers with a turnkey solution in the form of a development platform fully pre-configured to their exact requirements.

"With SENS, Siemens Nixdorf offers a complete integrated solution for a fast and easy ramp up of enterprise-wide development projects," said Robert Hoog, member of board and head of the Siemens Nixdorf division OEC. "SNiFF+ is the ideal Source Code Engineering tool for developing and managing complex projects. SNiFF+'s openness and seamless integration with other SENS-tools provide one unified environment for all development phases."

"Preserving customers' investments is the key value of today's software development," adds Mark Pittman, vice president of marketing for TakeFive Software. "With SNiFF+, Siemens Nixdorf customers can take full advantage of very reasonable Windows NT installations and remotely work on large UNIX server applications. SNiFF+ brings powerful code comprehension and browsing capabilities to cross-platform customers of Siemens Nixdorf, while the IDE component is central to integrating all of the SENS tools into an easy to use, seamless environment. We are extremely excited that Siemens Nixdorf customers will benefit from enhanced programmer productivity and a shorter time to market by using SENS and SNiFF+."

Announced on June 29, 1998, SNiFF+ v3.0 features remote build and debug capabilities that allow programmers in multiple-platform environments to develop on the platform of their choice -- Windows 95, Windows NT, and all major UNIX platforms.
