NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2001

Oni Debuts At Number One On the UK ChartTrack Sales Charts in

Its First Week of Sales Since Its Release for the

Playstation(R)2 Computer Entertainment System

Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) is pleased to announce the continuing success of Oni, the critically-acclaimed third-person action adventure game for PlayStation(R)2, as it debuted at number one on the ChartTrack UK sales chart for the one-week period ended March 10, 2001. This news comes one week after its European release. Initial feedback from the other main European territories on Oni has also been extremely positive and is sure to result in strong sell-through.

This news follows on the heels on the phenomenal critical and financial success Oni has been receiving in the U.S. where it debuted at number two after its first week of sales according to NPD/TRST. Oni has also been receiving rave reviews in the American consumer and gaming specialist press including being awarded Game Of The Month honors in the February issues of Playboy and Stuff magazine. USA Today proclaimed, "For firepower, fisticuffs, 'Oni' is only game in town."

Kelly Sumner, Chief Executive Officer, commented, "The tremendous success of our Playstation(R)2 titles, first in the United States and now in Europe, has proven Take-Two's ability to develop new titles for the next-generation platforms that have become best sellers on a global scale and has clearly positioned Take-Two as a top-tier global publisher."

Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games, stated, "I am delighted to see Oni hitting the top of the charts. It confirms my belief that the appeal of Oni is truly global and that Rockstar has a major new franchise on its hands."

Oni is a third-person 3D action adventure that blends hand-to-hand combat and gunplay into a single action experience. One of the primary goals of Oni is to deliver, for the first time, a third-person game where the action is smooth and instantaneous without being simplistic.

The gameplay is divided 50/50 between hand-to-hand and weapons combat. While Konoko will have an arsenal of weapons at her disposal, from pistols to rocket launchers, realistic quantities and placement of ammo in the environment means that the player won't be able to tear through the game with guns blazing. Instead, Konoko's punches throws and kicks will be critical for attacking silently, saving ammo, and simply enjoying the satisfaction of "hands-on" punishment.
