Take one picture.

EACH YEAR THE NATIONAL ART GALLERY in London chooses a painting for all school children to look at. In a special assembly Pippa Bell from The Magic Lantern introduced us to the painting - An experiment on a bird in the air pump by Joseph Wright.

We thought it was dark, scary and gloomybut we saw the moon shining through the window so we decided to work on light and dark. We used paints and our colour mixing palettes to create the moon with rings of colours getting darker and darker. We painted a silhouette of a tree in front of the moon to show light and dark.

We loved being artists for the day and learned new skills when painting on a canvas.
